CE-marking

The history of the CE marking dates back to the founding of the free trade area. In order to protect the consumers the European politicians agreed that common harmonized standards for products concerning safety, health and environement should be made. The CE-mark is the sign put on the product that it is made according to these standards.

Over the years still more harmonized standards has been executed and the little CE- mark is now known to most consumers from toy, electronics etc.. Construction material is one of the newer products groups to have these harmonized standards and at present standards for the different types of doors are being drawn up.

JELD-WEN and CE-marking

Being an international manufacturer with a broad assortment in doors JELD-WEN of course follows the development of the standards closely and are the first to implement them. For the time being we only have a harmonized standard for our range of exterior doors. That means you will only find the CE-mark on our exterior doors.

The CE-mark is a guarantee for the consumers, that the product in question is made according to the European harmonized standard and that it fulfils local demands in case there are special regulations.

The CE-mark refers to a Declaration of Performance where test result or results for the performance of the door is declared together with the conformity declarations.

Though the marking is done and information is provided by the manufacturer, the consumers may safely rely on it as public market surveillance keeps a watchful eye on the manufacturers and importers.

On your exterior door from JELD-WEN you will find a label with the CE-logo and some information one of which is the number of the DoP.

You can find and download the DoP by clicking on your local country on the map.

For your own sake you should leave the CE-mark on the door, but if you remove it download and keep the DoP.
